Student Dress Code

All students must adhere to the Corey Standards Dress Code and the BPSD dress code:



  • may not be worn except for sun protection, medical or religious reasons
  • may not be worn indoors



  • must have sleeves; bare shoulders not permitted
  • may not be longer than your thumb when arms are at your sides
  • no low cut tops; back and midriff must be covered



  • must be proper size, fit securely, and fit at waist without belt
  • underwear must not show and no “sagging” pants
  • no sleepwear
  • must not be ripped or torn



  • skirts and shorts must reach past fingertips in length
  • shorts cannot be longer than 2 inches past the knee
  • shorts cannot overlap socks



  • must not be higher than 4 inches above the ankle



  • must be closed toe, closed heel
  • no slippers
  • soles or heels should not exceed 1 ½  inches
  • shoes must be worn at all times



  • no initial or large belt buckles, chain of any kind, spikes, or anything deemed unsafe
  • no plugs, no piercings except in the ear
  • gloves may not be worn except outside during inclement weather
  • no writing, drawing or stickers on the body



  • should be neatly styled: extreme styles and colors/dyes not permitted; eyes must be visible
  • Mohawks must be trimmed below an inch
  • Bandanas are not permitted


Inappropriate symbols:

  • inappropriate symbols or anything promoting unsafe activities
  • any items that the local police department considers gang attire is not permitted


The school reserves the right to regulate against upcoming fads or fashions that have a negative influence or may disrupt the learning environment.  Interpretation and judgment in matters pertaining to dress and personal appearance are necessary.  In this area the Principal and /or Assistant Principal are the final and sole judge of what is or is not acceptable for an individual student.
